Karachi: Former Pakistan wicket-keeper Rashid Latif is confident that Pakistan team can bounce back at Edgbaston and series is still pretty much alive.
England defeated Pakistan by a heavy margin of 330 runs in the second Test match as the Men In Green were outclassed in all departments at Old Trafford. Rashid Latif is hoping that the Pakistani team buckles up and fight it out in the next couple of Test matches rather than throwing in the towel easily.
“Pakistan are still right in the Test series at 1-1 and it could go either way in the next two Tests,” Latif was quoted as saying in the local media. “Despite England winning by such a big margin, it remains a close series because Pakistan are quite capable of bouncing back.”
“Two matches remain and this Pakistan team has lot of potential. At Old Trafford the batting was horrible and there was no excuse for the poor show by our batters. They need to sit down and start afresh,” he added.
The third Test match between Pakistan and England is scheduled to take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham from the 3rd of August.
