Karachi: Pakistan disabled cricket team sealed three-match T20 International Disability Cricket Series 3-0 against visiting Afghanistan counterparts after registering a 17-run victory in the last match here at National Stadium.
Pakistan batted first and posted 164-5 and then restricted Afghanistan to 147-7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Matloob Qureshi scored a brilliant half century – 51 off 35 balls with seven beautiful boundaries. Jahanzaib Tiwana made 44 off only 21 balls with the help of six fours and a six. Arif Richard contributed 31 off 39 balls. Captain Hasnain Alam scored 18 runs.
Off Spinner Abdullah grabbed three wickets for 26 runs while medium pace skipper Nabiullah Nabi took two wickets for 25 runs.
In reply Afghanistan openers Muhammad Ashraf and Ubaidullah made a brilliant opening partnership of 85 runs but they failed to save their team from third consecutive defeat in the series.
The team was eventually restricted to 147-7 in allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Ashraf scored 79 runs in 58 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes.
Left arm spinner Ameer Ahmed bowled superbly well and took three wickets for 19 runs while his fellow spinner Fayyaz Ahmed took two giving away 18 runs.
The two teams will also play two-match ODI series, which begins February 26 here at National Stadium.
