Pakistan defeat Egypt in the final to win World Junior Squash Championship

Pakistan managed to win the World Junior Squash Championship for the sixth time by defeating the top seed Egypt by 2-1 in the final.

Pakistan has won the title after eight years, they last won it in 2008 in Poland. Egypt was winning it consecutively for the last three years, however, the second seed Pakistan has put an end to Egypt’s ruling.

It was an impressive start for Pakistan when Israr Ahmed of Pakistan dominated Saadeldin Abouaish by 3-0 with a score of 11-9, 11-9 and 11-9.

Ayas Ahsan lost his bout against Youssef Ibrahim by 3-1 with a score line of 13-11, 11-13, 11-5 and 11-6. It levelled the game 1-1 and made it interesting.

It was Abbas Shoukat that stepped up for Pakistan and defeated Marwan Tarek by 3-1 to win the decider and clinch the final to hold the title after eight years.
