Pakistan who lost to Japan in their opening match of the event came back strongly to keep their hopes alive in the event.

In squash, Pakistan men’s team beat Japan 2-1 and Nepal 3-0 in their pool match.

Meanwhile, in the women’s event, Malaysia defeated Pakistan by 3-0.

Pakistan’s woman Karate Master, Kulsoom was outclassed 5-0 by China’s Thingyan Nguyen in Quarter-final of Women’s 68 kg category.

Benish Akbar failed to qualify for Quarter-final of Women’s 50Kg karate after losing to UAE’s Hawraa Al Ajmi by 5-0.

In 170 Kg weightlifting category, Noah Dastagir Butt managed 5th spot after lifting 170 Kg in a snatch and 235 Kg in clean and jerk.

The Philippines defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Preliminary group of Men’s Regu event of Sepaktakraw.

Pakistan after losing to Indonesia and Singapore with same score 2-0 failed to find their place in the next round of Sepaktakraw.

Pakistani Boxer Naqeebullah won his bout in the round of 16 of Men’s Bantam 56kg event against Bhutan’s Nima Dorji by 3-2 and qualified for the quarterfinals where he will fight with China’s Boxing Xu on August 29.

In another fight, Pakistan’s Suleman Baloch lost in the round of 16 of Men’s Light Welter 64kg event to Korea’s Hyunsuk Lim by 0-5. Tanveer Ahmed also lost to India’s Krishan Vikas by 0-5 in the round of 16 of Men’s Middle 75kg category.
