Pakistan kicks-off training ahead of England tour

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team has kicked off the training camp at the Gaddafi Stadium here in Lahore on Tuesday ahead of the World Cup 2019 and England series.

The camp is under the supervision of head coach Mickey Arthur, who will be keeping a close eye on every single player.

Including the Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, 21 players are present in the camp except Haris Sohail who did not attend the training session due to his uncle’s death.

The National Selection Committee will review the form of players in the camp from which 15-player squad will be chosen from a list of 23 probable players.

The chairman selection committee, Inzamam-ul-Haq will announce the squad on April 18 after analysing the fitness level of the players.

Pakistan will face England in a five-match ODI series and a T20I from May 5 before they will play its first World Cup match against West Indies at the Trent Bridge stadium on May 31 after playing warmup matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
