Pakistan volleyball team started their campaign on a winning note after beating Mongolia 3-0 in the opener of the Asian Games Volleyball on Monday.

Pakistan came up with a surprise package beating the opponent 25-16 in the first round to make their position strong.

Mongolia came back strongly in first few minutes of the second round but unfortunately, a couple of missed chances caused them dearly as Pakistan managed to win it 25-19.

In round three, Pakistan easily defeated their counterparts by 25-14 to record their first win.

In Handball’s opening match, Pakistan lost to Chinese Taipei 32-36.

Hsienchang remained on top, scoring eight times for his team while ChenYentung netted the ball for six times.

Wang Takang, Chiu fan, HSU Hsieming added four points each to Chinese’s tally.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Shahid was the top scorer for his team with eight points while Asim Saeed and Mohammad Shahid Bashir scored seven points each.

Moreover, Deng Zhiwi of China beat Raza Tayyab of Pakistan 10-0 in 125kg category of Men’s freestyle wrestling.

Taiwan’s Chang Kaichen defeated Ushna Sohail of Pakistan 6-3, 6-1 in round 32 of women’s tennis.

In round 32 of Taekwondo women-53 Kg, Law Sin Yi of China outclassed Anila Afsar of Pakistan 12-6.

In the first round, Law beat her counterpart 3-1 but Anila’s strong comeback in second round clinching it by 0-2 put Chinese player under pressure.

In the third round, Law dominated completely winning it by 9-3.

In Asian Games Kabaddi, Iran beat Pakistan 36-20.

In the swimming event of Women’s 50m Butterfly, Pakistan’s Bisma Khan and Mishael Aisha Ayub failed to qualify for the final event after finishing at 18th and 19th spot clocking 30.02 seconds and 32.22 seconds respectively.

In the Men’s 50m Backstroke event, Pakistan’s Syed Muhammad Haseeb Tariq finished at 24th with the time of 27.31 seconds, while Muhammad Yahya Khan finishing at 28.79 seconds managed 29th position.

In the Men’s 200m Individual Medley, Muhammad Yahya Khan finished on 18th spot with the time of 2:20.31 minute.
