Pakistan names ODI squad against Zimbabwe, Mukhtar dropped


LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dropped in-form batsman Mukhtar Ahmad and has brought in Shoaib Malik for the upcoming one day series against Zimbabwe, reports.

Mukhtar Ahmed scored back to back half centuries in the two match Twenty20 series against Zimbabwe and scored a total of 145 runs.

Meanwhile, out-of-form Shoaib Malik scored just 14 runs in the T20 series.

Ahmed Shehzad and Imad Wasim have been named in the side.

Umar Akmal, who was dropped for the one day series in Bangladesh, has not been selected for the Zimbabwe series as well. Fawad Alam and Saad Nasim have been named in the 15 man squad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s pace attack will comprise of Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami, Anwar Ali and Junaid Khan as Umar Gul, Rahat Ali and Zulfiqar Babar have been dropped from the squad.
