Pakistan names squad for Bangladesh tour, Ajmal returns


LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced the squad for its tour to Bangladesh, reports.

Pakistani ace spinner Saeed Ajmal will be making its return to international cricket after being banned from bowling over an illegal action. He has been named in all three formats of the game.

Youngsters Mohammad Rizwan, Sami Aslam and Mukhtar Ahmed will make their debuts on international platform during the tour.

The green shirts will play three ODIs, two test matches and one T20 against Bangladesh in the second week of April. The training camp will kick off on 7th April here in Lahore.

Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed said that the performance reports submitted by the team management regarding the performance of the team in the World Cup 2015 were taken into consideration before selecting the squad.

Test squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Haris Sohail, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.

ODI squad: Azhar Ali (captain), Sami Aslam, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Fawad Alam, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Ehsan Adil and Sohail Khan.

T20 squad: Shahid Afridi (captain), Ahmed Shehzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez, Mukhtar Ahmed, Sohaib Maqsood, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Rizwan, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Saad Nasim, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Umar Gul and Junaid Khan.

It should be noted that wicket keeper batsman Umar Akmal has not been named in any of the squad whereas Ahmed Shehzad has only been included in the T20 squad.

Head coach Waqar Younis, in his report to PCB, had reported Shehzad and Akmal’s behavior in the World Cup.
