Chief of the Navy Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakarullah hosted a dinner to honour Pakistan’s Champions Trophy winning squad on Thursday.
The Navy Chief said while addressing the ceremony that Pakistan Navy is as proud of Pakistan cricket team as the whole Pakistani nation. Especially, they are proud of the ex-serviceman Fakhar Zaman, who was a part of Navy as a sailor and then a part of its cricket team.
Admiral Muhammad Zakarullah appreciated the teamwork and esprit de corps by the players during the tournament, especially during the final against the arch-rivals India.
The Navy Chief also hailed the role of Pakistan’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed who kept the team united and motivated during the tournament that led them to achieve the glory.
He termed the big win as a matter of pride for Pakistan Navy and called it a moment of pleasure to celebrate the success with their cricketing heroes. He also hailed the roles played by PCB officials, team management, selection committee, PSL management and the entire team in winning the Champions Trophy for the first time.
