Pakistan need 117 runs to win against Hong Kong

DUBAI: Usman Khan Shinwari thrashed minnows Hong Kong with his splendid spell taking three wickets as Pakistan restricted them to 116 in their first match of the Asia Cup on Sunday.

Usman conceded only 19 runs in his eight overs to set the platform for Pakistan to get past the batting line of Hong Kong.

Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali bagged two wickets each to further strengthen the position of green caps with the bowl.

Earlier, Hong Kong started off their innings with openers Nizakat Khan and Anushman Rath after winning the toss.

Both the openers were quite impressive with the bat but the introduction of Faheem Ashraf in 5th over broke the brief partnership of 17 runs with Nizakat Khan losing his wicket on a run-out.

Skipper Hong Kong, Anushman carried the inning for his team from there but due to wickets falling after regular intervals put him under pressure.

Anushman made only 19 runs after he was caught behind the stumps.

Kinchit Shah (26) and Aizaz khan (27) contributed 53 runs together on the sixth wicket to rescue the sinking ship of Hong Kong.
