‘Pakistan need to address middle-order batting before T20 WC’ Kamran

KARACHI: National cricketer Kamran Akmal said the Pakistan team’s management needs to fix their middle-order issues before T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled in October-November in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Speaking to ARY News, Akmal said the national team management must do planning keeping in mind back-to-back ICC events in the next three years.

“I’ve been seeing them lacking in middle-order batting. The team management needs to make a proper combination and finalize it before the T20 World Cup,” he said.

“Three washed-out T20I contests against West Indies took away the chance from the team to look at different combinations. But, they still have their time to see what the team requires before the mega event. And, remember there are three back-to-back major events, so the management must plan by keeping that in mind,” he added.

It must be noted here that three out of four T20Is between Pakistan and the West Indies were washed out. Pakistan won the only T20I to win the series 1-0. The Green Shirts will now take West Indies in two Test matches series.
