Pakistan’s former skipper, Saleem Malik believes that Pakistan need batsmen like Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez in its middle order.
Malik while talking to the media in Lahore said that Pakistan team is struggling in middle overs and need some mentally strong batsmen to tackle the pressure situations.
“The batsmen like Umar Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez are need of the hour,” Malik said.
He said that Pakistan lost to India twice due to lack of concentration and planning which led them down badly.
“Pakistan played poor cricket which was not expected from a team who performed quite well last year,” he said.
Malik further told that Sarfraz is not effective while batting at number four so he should come at down the batting order.
“Sarfraz’s decision to come at number four is wrong he should play at down the batting order,” he stated.
He also advised the head coach Mickey Arthur to let his boys play their natural game in order to achieve good results.
Malik further said that the Pakistan cricket team at this point of time have only Babar and Shoaib who can play long innings to support their batting.
“Shoaib, being a senior batsman knows how to absorb pressure and Babar Azam at this age has the temperament to play long innings,” former right-handed test batsman said.
