Pakistan on brink of suffering historic whitewash

DHAKA: Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the third and final one day at Dhaka on Wednesday (today), reports.

Pakistan has already lost the ODI series 2-0 and is on the verge of suffering a humiliating whitewash against Bangladesh.

They lost the first ODI by 79 runs and were also beaten by seven wickets in the second one day as well.

Not a single team player has so far managed to play its part in the team except for Captain Azhar Ali and Saad Nasim.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the hero of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, has failed to give solid performance in the tour so far whereas the pacers also lack the sting.

Off spinner Saeed Ajmal, who made his return to international cricket, was also taken to the cleaners by the Bangladeshi batsmen in the two one dayers.

The green shirts are also hit with injuries. Many players, named in the squad for Bangladesh tour, have suffered injuries without playing a single match.

Sohaib Maqsood and Sohail Khan were ruled out of the tour before it got underway whereas Yasir Shah and Ehsan Adil were also out of the team before the ODI series began.

Sources have said that pacer Rahat Ali, who suffered a hamstring injury, is likely to be replaced with left arm fast bowler Zia-ul-Haq.

On the other hand, ICC has cleared Mohammad Hafeez to bowl as the all-rounder’s bowling action was cleared by the sport’s governing body.

Pakistan will slip to No.8 in ODI rankings if they lose the match today.
