India and England topped the Pool B’s chart after winning their respective games against Wales and Malaysia in men’s field hockey at Commonwealth Games 2018 at Gold Coast on Tuesday.
With these wins, India and England cemented their positions with seven points each against their name. Pakistan’s contest against Malaysia on April 11 has lost its significance because a win will not impact the outcome of the tournament as they both have only three points in their account.
On the other hand, Australia and New Zealand have qualified from Pool A with 9 points apiece under their belt.
Pakistan drew all of their three contests against Wales, India and England by 1-1, 2-2 and 2-2 respectively.
In their last two games, Pakistan managed to pull off a draw in the last moments of the game. They scored an equaliser against India in the last seven seconds, whereas, scored their leveller against England in the last three minutes.
