Pakistan Socca football team on Saturday arrived in Lisbon, Portugal to feature in the inaugural edition of the ISF Socca Football World Cup.
As many as 32 teams are participating in the mega event which kicks off on Sunday.
Afaq Ahmed will lead the Pakistani side whereas the other team members include Hafiz Muhammad Waleed, Umer Javeed, Haider Ali, Saad Ali Khan, Zaid Mehmood, Aamir Iqbal Gondal, Abdul Hanan Javad, Zabi Ullah Warraich, Muhammad Zubair Adil, Muhammad Alamgir (Peshawar), Muhammad Kashif, Zafar Khan, Sameer Ahmed.
The head coach National team, Tariq Lutfi is also present with the team alongside Zabe Khan (Team Manager), Shehroze Rizvi (Assistant Manager) and Mohammad Asif (Media Manager).
The team manager Zabe Khan is optimistic that his boys will compete strongly in the tournament and would make the most of this opportunity.
“The boys are pumped up and hopefully they would make their presence feel in the mega tournament,” Zabe said.
He said that the boys are completely prepared to give stiff competition to the opponents and they will not let their supporters disappointed.
“The team morale is high and they are desperately looking forward to getting on the field against Spain in their first outing of the tournament,” Zabe stated.
Pakistan resides along with Spain, Russia and Moldova in Group B of the Six-a-Side tournament.
Pakistan will start their campaign playing against Spain on Sunday followed by their clashes against Moldova and Russia on September 24 and 27 respectively.
