Pakistan put up an impressive show to secure the third place in the Asia Cup Hockey tournament after beating Korea by 6-3 on Sunday.
Ajaz Ahmed was instrumental in Pakistan’s win where he scored three goals in the 10th, 30th and 36th minute of the game.
On the other hand, Rashid Mehmood struck a goal in the 26th minute while Abu Mahmood put in the ball in the goal in the 32nd minute that gave Pakistan a convincing win.
Koreans seemed off-colour in the game as they failed to defend their goal against the attacking Pakistani side, they were inspiring during the Super 4 stage, where their defense was solid.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s arch-rival India won the Asia Cup Hockey 2017 Champions after beating Malaysia in the final by 2-1 on Sunday.
This is the third time India has clinched the title for the third time.
India started to rule the game since the beginning as Ramandeep Singh scored their first goal of the match in just the third minute of the match.
Lalit Upadhyay struck the second goal of the match, which proved to be the decider as Malaysia could only score one goal in the match courtesy of Shahril Saabah.
