English fast bowler Steve Finn will no longer play any part in the away series in UAE versus Pakistan after suffering from a foot injury earlier.
All rounder Chris Jordan will replace him in the test and ODI squad. This is a huge blow to England because Finn has been in terrific form off late and was important weapon in England’s armory.
Chris Jordan has played international cricket for England before and is a gentle medium pacer and handy with the bat as well in the lower middle order. He has played in 8 test matches for England and has scored 180 runs as well as taking 21 wickets. This is an opportunity for the recently turned 27 year old player to make his mark for England outside home in demanding conditions.
In the absence of Fin the work load will have to be shared by Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad and Mark Wood but the already tough job of picking up wickets in dry conditions of UAE just got even more difficult.
