Pakistan, West Indies to battle for Champions Trophy spot in Zimbabwe tri-series


KARACHI: Pakistan can still confirm their place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 despite losing the one day series to Sri Lanka provided if they win the tri-series in Zimbabwe which also features West Indies, reports.

The cut-off date for qualifying for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 is 23rd September.

West Indies is at No.8 in the ICC ODI rankings with 88 points while Pakistan is at ninth place in the rankings with 87 points. The Caribbean side will not tour any country before the tri-series in Zimbabwe.

The green shirts can still qualify for the mega even in 2017 despite losing to Sri Lanka in the five match ODI series.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have already qualified for the champions trophy after beating India in the three match one day series 2-1.
