Pakistan Women’s cricket team have convincingly defeated the touring Bangladesh women’s team in the second and final ODI by 6 wickets held at the Southend Club in karachi.
Having won the toss the Bangladesh women decided to bat first. Although their openers had provided them with a fair start of 21 runs but they kept losing wickets in clusters and never got the momentum into their innings. At one stage the Bangladesh women were 67/7. Pakistan’s spinner Anam Amin had a fantastic outing with the bowl and had magical figures of 4 wickets for 7 runs in he allotted 10 overs which included 5 maiden overs as well. The innings folded at 123/9 at the end of 50 overs. Ayasha Rahman top scored with the bat as she scored 39 runs while the player making her ODI debut Nigar Sultana scored 30 runs. Asmavia Iqbal took 3 wickets for 28 runs.
Pakistan in reply got to the target easily enough and with no real difficulty. Bismah Maroof again was the top batsman for Pakistan as she has been throughout the tour as she amassed 41 runs off 66 balls with the help of 7 fours. Marina Iqbal and Nain Abidi scored 31 and 22 runs respectively. Nahida Akter too two wickets for Bangladesh.Captain Sana Mir played the winning shot for four as she sealed yet another victory for Pakistan.
Anam Amin was declared man of the match for her brilliant bowling and career best figures.
