Pakistan women registered a thumping win against Malaysia in an ACC Women’s Asia Cup contest by 147 runs at Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
After winning the toss, Malaysia asked Pakistan to bat first and it proved fruitful for the Women in Green.
Pakistan’s skipper Bismah Maroof played another stylish inning of 62 runs off 37 deliveries, which is her second consecutive half-century. Nida Dar and Javeria Khan contributed 41 (27) and 31 (24) respectively to take their team to challenging score of 177/5.
Ainna Hamizah Hashim, Sasha Azmi, Zumika Azmi took one wicket apiece in the inning.
The hosts proved to be vulnerable with the bat as they could only manage to score 30 runs before getting all-out in response to Pakistan’s 177 runs.
Nida Dar, who became the first Pakistani bowler to take a five-for in a T20I contest in the last game, took four wickets to take her team to the win. On the other hand, Sana Mir, Nashra Sandhu and Javeria Khan struck once in the game.
It was Pakistan’s second consecutive victory in the tournament as they defeated Sri Lanka by 23 runs on Tuesday. Whereas, earlier in the tournament, they suffered a loss against Bangladesh.
