Pakistani boxer Usman Wazir to compete in New York

Former unified light-welterweight world champion, Amir Khan announced on Tuesday that Pakistani boxer Usman Wazir will be competing against Crawford in a fight in New York.

Wazir has been trained at the Amir Khan Boxing Academy in Islamabad and has impressed the Pakistan-origin British boxer with his skills.

“Usman Wazir will compete on my card in the event, he has impressed me with his skills and that is why I have decided to give him this fight,” he said.

Khan is ready to work with Pakistan Boxing Federation for promoting the sport in the country.

“After being a professional boxer, I am ready to offer my services [to the Pakistan Boxing Federation},” said Amir Khan who is looking forward to seeing the Pakistani flag flying high in New York. “I want to do a lot for boxing in Pakistan.”

Wazir will fight his bout on April 20 during in New York.
