Pakistani cricketers congratulate Dhoni on successful career


Karachi: Current and former Pakistani cricketers congratulated Mahindra Singh Dhoni for a successful career after the ex-Indian captain signed off international cricket. 

Taking to Twitter, Pakistani cricketers paid tribute to Dhoni who top-class cricket for his country and achieved several laurels.

Shahid Khan Afridi wished ‘Best of Luck’ to Dhoni for his future. “One of the true legends of Indian cricket and one of the greatest captains, congratulations on a great career MS Dhoni! All the best for your future,” he wrote.

“Mahendra Singh Dhoni retires from international cricket. The story of cricket will never be complete without him. Video tribute coming up shortly. What a legend!” former speedster Shoaib Akhtar wrote on his Twitter.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja bid farewell to Dhoni who remained lead cast in Indian cricket’s iconic moments.

Wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal shared playing experience with the former Indian captain.

“His contribution to Indian cricket was immense, a phenomenal leader, he changed the culture of Indian cricket. What an inspirational player – you will be missed Dhoni! Take a bow,” Azhar Mahmood wrote. 

Hasan Ali shared Dhoni was one of those cricketers whom he used to watch while growing up.

Sohail Tanvir also sent best wishes for Dhoni and also shared memorable experiences while playing against him.

It must be noted here that Dhoni announced retirement from international cricket on Saturday. Dhoni represented India all three formats of the game and captained his side to the T20 World Cup victory in 2007, World Cup 2011 victory, and Champions Trophy triumph in 2013. He played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20Is for India since his ODI debut in 2004.
