Pakistani players are ready to bring their A game during the World Cup 2019, which is scheduled to be played from May 30 to July 14 in England.
The players emphasized that they have worked hard on their fitness and are heading to the multi-nation cricketing event with full preparation.
“World Cup is a mega event and we are going with full preparation,” said the right-arm fast bowler Hasan Ali.
He also talked about the most anticipated game of the tournament, the Indo-Pak clash, which will take place on June 16 and said that the contest is important, but it is not like war.
“We are not going for a war, we will just play a match,” he said.
On the other hand, Abid Ali revealed that he has idolized Inzamam Ul Haq, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli and said that he will look to make the most out of the opportunity he has been given.
“I have been selected for the World Cup due to my performance,” he said. “I will look to give my best during the tournament.”
Pakistan’s talented young batsman, Babar Azam believes that the squad is well-balanced and he will look to perform the role he has been assigned.
“I will look to play the way I have been playing,” he said. “It is an honour for me that I have been compared with a player like Virat Kohli,” he added.
Haris Sohail also echoed the words of his teammates and assured that he will try to win matches for Pakistan. Moreover, Mohammad Hafeez stated that it is an honour for him to represent his country at such a big stage.
All the players appealed the nation to pray for Shadab Khan’s speedy recovery, who has been diagnosed with a Hepatitis C Virus and has been ruled out of the England series.
