Pakistani players’ English County contracts in jeopardy


Manchester: Following the decision of England and Wales Cricket Board (PCB) to further postpone professional cricket until July 1, Pakistani cricketers’ English County contracts are now in jeopardy. 

According to the details, ECB has postponed all cricket activities due to the prevailing COVID-19 virus. Upcoming English domestic season will now take place sometime later this year once the current pandemic dies down.

Pakistani cricketers including Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf were booked for the upcoming County championship. Babar was signed by Somerset County Club, Faheem was to represent Northamptonshire.

Moreover, Ehsan Adil, Bilawal Bhatti, Waqar Ahmed, and Mansoor Amjad were also signed for the County Championship.

It must be noted here that all sports events across the world have been postponed indefinitely due to widely-spread deadly coronavirus.
