Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s first-ever female cricket match referee Saman Zulfiqar has started performing her duties in the ongoing National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship.

Saman is the only female match referee on the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) development panel. She was the match referee in the fourth match of the tournament between PCB Dynamites and PCB Blasters.

While talking to a local newspaper, Saman said that she is happy to officiate as the first female match referee.

Saman has aimed to seek more experience and her message for girls is to come in this field as PCB has provided a good platform.

She hails from Allahabad, a town in the Kasur district of Punjab. She has chosen to become a cricket match referee to pursue her passion for sports. Zulfiqar is the mother of a daughter and lives with her family in Kasur.
