Pakistan’s squad for Socca World Cup has been announced


A 17-member Pakistan’s squad has been announced for the second edition of the Socca World Cup which is penciled in from October 12 to 20 in Crete, Greece.

The players have been named from the Lahore team which won Leisure Leagues national championship while some of them got selected during the trials being conducted in all four provinces of Pakistan.

A few Pakistan-born international players have also been included in the national squad to give it strength.

The head coach of the national team, Kevin Reeves, is confident for achieving some strong results in the tournament. “I am looking forward to some strong performances from my boys. We have some quality players who will be lethal for us in the extravaganza,” he said.

Defenders: Anas Irfan (Lahore), Ziaullah (Islamabad), Zuhair Lateef (Lahore), Abdussalam (SSGC)

Mid-fielders: Habibur Rehman (SSGC), Shahzad Akbar (Lahore), Yousuf Ahmed (Lahore), Abdus Sami (Islamabad), Ali Agha (Quetta), Saadullah (Quetta)

Strikers: Hasan Basheer (Denmark), Umar Zia (Lahore), Daniyal Azeem (Lahore), Mohammad Waheed (PCCA), Affan Siddiqui (Karachi)

Officials: Shahroze Rizvi (Team Manager), Kevin Reeves (Head Coach), Gohar Zaman (Assistant Coach).
