The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani asked the Pakistan team captain to stay calm and play positive cricket in remaining four matches of the ongoing World Cup in England.
“Still you are in the World Cup so don’t worry and grab the remaining opportunities in your pocket,” Mani said to Sarfraz on a phone call following their 89-run defeat against India on Sunday in Manchester.
Mani told Sarfraz to avoid controversies on social media as it will divert their mind from the game. “Don’t think about what you lose and give your best in upcoming games,” he said.
The PCB’s boss thinks that by winning the next four matches the team can advance to the semis and it is not anything out of players’ reach.
“Just lift up your morale and prove yourself in upcoming matches. All eyes are on you guys and we know you can do it,” Mani backed the skipper.
On the other hand, Sarfraz assured the PCB’s chairman to not disappoint the fans in upcoming matches.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s poor performance against India put the entire team management in hot water. The cricket fans felt disheartened and demanded the changes in the entire structure of the national side.
