Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s CEO Wasim Khan rejected all the reports that emerged against them giving Asia Cup 2020 hosting rights to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in return for confirming Pakistan tour.
In a press interaction in Lahore during Pakistan vs Bangladesh second T20I, Khan said that all the reports regarding PCB-BCB back door deal are baseless. “I can assure you no such talks held between us and BCB. They were having a few concerns over touring Pakistan, I and Mani met BCB officials in the presence of ICC’s ICC and sort out the difference. They felt okay with our point of view and confirmed their tour,” Khan clarified the buzz.
Khan, when asked about India’s narrative for playing on Pakistan’s soil, straightforwardly said if India refuses to play Asia Cup in Pakistan, they will also not go to India for ICC T20 World Cup 2021. “We don’t know what India has said but if they will not come, we will also not tour India next year,” he said.
It must be noted here that PCB is scheduled to host Asia Cup 2020 which will be based on a 20-overs format. Pakistan has been declared safe by the ICC and has continuously hosted several international cricket events since 2017.
