PCB decides to encourage Central Punjab players via online sessions


Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold online sessions of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s side Central Punjab, ARY Sports today.

Players of both first and second XI side will take part in the sessions. Initially, head coach Ijaz Ahmed will have one-on-one sessions with junior players.

In the second phase, separate lectures will be given to batsmen, fast bowlers, spinners, and wicket keepers. Pakistan men’s team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, bowling coach Waqar Younus, Chief Executive PCB Wasim Khan and Director High-Performance Nadeem Khan will also be invited to the lectures.

The purpose of these lectures is to strengthen the players mentally and emotionally. The lectures will guide the batsmen on how to adjust to the daily changing situation of the pitch in four-day matches.

Fast bowlers will be guided on how to use the new and old ball. Spinners and wicket-keepers will be made aware of their importance in the team.

It must be noted that earlier former cricketers shared their knowledge with national men’s and women’s teams.
