Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will assist each other in investigation of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing row.
Earlier, PCB and FIA were working separately on the issue and were not collaborating much. However, Chaudhry Nisar instructed the two authorities to work together, after the Interior Minister was bombarded with information.
As a result, FIA will help the PCB with all the forensic and similar kind of evidences that are essential for the board’s formed tribunal to investigate the case.
Whereas, the PCB will provide all necessary documents and data to the investigation agency related to the involved individuals.
It has also been decided that the FIA will continue to work on the case, but the criminal proceedings and FIR will be lodged once PCB concludes their investigation.
PCB is determined to get rid of these corrupt activities, thus, they and FIA will work with other law enforcement agencies to root out this phenomena once and for all.
FIA and PCB will also request Nisar to direct the Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) to block all betting websites in Pakistan to control this cancer of fixing.
