PCB hails Rawalpindi, Islamabad fans for making PSL matches successful

Lahore:  Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has thanked the fans of the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi for making Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five matches successful.

PCB also applauded the services of the groundsmen of Pindi Cricket Stadium for preparing great pitches and tackling the intermittent weather. PCB termed them as part of the eighth team of the PSL 2020.

According to press-release, Over 100,000 spectators attended the PSL matches at the 17,000 capacity Pindi Stadium and approximately 80,000 fans had watched live action at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

“We owe a big thanks to the cricket fans and followers of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad who turned up in big numbers to play their part in the success of the PSL five,” PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer said.

“After the six participating sides and the match officials, ground staff are the eighth team in the tournament. Pindi Cricket Stadium ground staff were the real heroes when they worked tirelessly to prepare the ground for matches despite persistent rains,” Salman Naseer added.

On behalf of the PCB, He also thanked the local and provincial authorities for their constant support.

“I also want to appreciate the support of the local administration, provincial governments, and security agencies. Without their cooperation, the PCB would not have been able to put together a display of this size,” he maintained.

It must be noted that eight matches were host by Rawalpindi and three matches by Multan for the very first time in the history of PSL.
