Pakistan cricket board (PCB) on Thursday has issued a show-cause notice to one of the five Board of directors (BoG) Noman Butt who rejected the appointment of Wasim Khan as MD.
On Wednesday, the Board of Governors rejected the appointment of Wasim Khan as managing director and submitted a resolution against the modification in the domestic structure.
The 53rd meeting of the PCB BoG, notable for being the first to be held in Quetta, was attended by eight of its ten members.
The resolution which was submitted by five BoG members, demanded that MD Wasim Khan’s “appointment and the unconstitutional post of MD PCB be declared null and void.”
The resolution also rejected any move to abolish departments and regions in domestic cricket, and the setting up of a domestic cricket restructuring committee within the next 10 days.
Chairman PCB Mr Ehsan Mani has expressed disappointment over the incident that happened yesterda, he said, “I am highly disappointed by today’s events as I was looking forward to an interactive, productive and constructive discussion, which was aimed at taking Pakistan cricket forward.”
According to the sources, the Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet PCB chief Ehsan Mani on Friday and discuss the issues in detail.
