Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) las week announced new coaching panels of six cricket associations for the upcoming domestic season 2020-21.
Abdul Razzaq (KP), Basit Ali (Sindh), Faisal Iqbal (Baluchistan), Shahid Anwar (Central Punjab) had joined Abdur Rehman (Southern Punjab) and Mohammad Wasim (Northern) as head coach of First-XI teams and in Misbah-ul-Haq’s men’s national selection panel.
The coaches who were retained are Abdul Rehman, Akram Raza, Bilal Ahmed, Fahad Akram, Hussain Khosa, Iqbal Imam, Kamran Khan, Mazhar Dinari, Mohammad Masroor, Mohammad Wasim, Rafatullah Mohmand, Saeed Anwar Junior, Sajjad Akbar, Samiullah Niazi, Saqib Faqir, Shahid Anwar, Shoaib Khan, Tahir Mahmood, Tanvir Shaukat, Wasim Haider and Zahoor Elahi.
Whereas, coaches including Arshad Khan, Raj Hans (both Balochistan), Ijaz Ahmed Junior, Naveed Anjum (both Central Punjab), Kabir Khan, Sajid Shah (both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Manzoor Elahi and Tahir Mahmood (both Northern), Azam Khan, Tauseef Ahmed, Shaukat Mirza (all Sindh) and Javed Hayat (Southern Punjab) were dismissed.
Now, according to sources, PCB is considering adjusting dismissed coaches in new roles. Sources confirmed ARY News that Director – High-Performance Centre Nadeem Khan and CEO Wasim Khan discussed brining some of the dismissed coaches in new roles.
Meanwhile, Khan briefed the CEO on newly announced provincial coaches, upcoming domestic season and SOPs under which cricket activities will be resumed at National High-Performance Centres (NHPC).
It must be noted here that PCB, on Tuesday, announced SOPs for resuming cricket activities across the country. Currently, the cricket board is working onto frame protocols for domestic season 2020-21 which will start from September 30 with National T20 Cup.
