QUETTA: PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan is looking to invite Afghanistan to play in the provincial capital of Balochistan, Quetta, in the wake of improved law and order situation in the city.
Shahryar Khan addressed a press conference accompanied with the Secretary General Quetta Region, Noman Mashkoot at Bugti Cricket Stadium Quetta.
Khan said that Afghnaistan has shown positive intent towards sending their side to Pakistan.
“We are considering to arrange matches here, in order to provide locals an opportunity to watch international cricket,” Khan said.
Shahryar stated plans of establishing cricket academies in Quetta and Peshawar to find some talented cricketers from the cities.
Khan also advised the Baloch youth to focus on education, “A cricketer must be educated as it is the need of the hour,” he said.
Shahryar Khan revealed that the governor Balochistan, Mohammad Achakzai and the chief minister of the province Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri have been requested to build some new stadiums in different parts of the Balochistan including Quetta.
