Lahore: The chief selector of Pakistan cricket team Inzamam-ul-Haq has named the players which will be taking part in the skills camp in Lahore and from this the players who will form a part of the squad which will tour England will be selected.
Inzamam said during a press conference at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore that he has decided to give as many youngsters a chance so that they can gauge their skill set in the camp in Lahore. The former Pakistan great added that he is finding it difficult to find a all rounder in the test match format and hopefully he will find a quality all rounder for the longest format soon.
Inzamam said that since the exclusion of Saeed Ajmal Pakistan cricket has felt the vacuum of a quality spinner especially an off spinner which is why they have named two spinners in the form of Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar in the squad. He added that the cricketers may find the series in England difficult because of the lack of exposure to English conditions and also due to the fact that they will visit England after a long gap of 6 years.
Opener Ahmed Shehzad and middle order batsman Umar Akmal have not been included in the provisional squad due to disciplinary issues and poor performances. Senior players Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali and co are part of the squad. In the fast bowlers department Rahat Ali, Imran Khan, Mohammad Amir and other are also part of the squad.
