Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rejected the media reports regarding Naseem Shah that he has has been withdrawn from the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup due to over aging.
In the official statement released by PCB, it is stated that they have rechecked and verified ages of all players of Pakistan U-19 Cricket Team and this process was completed in November before the selection of Pakistan U-19 team on December 6 and Naseem was included in the preliminary squad of the side after he met the ICC age eligibility criteria.
Earlier PCB announced on December 31 that Naseem Shah had been withdrawn from the Junior World Cup on the request of the management of the Pakistan Senior Cricket Team and the reasons are purely cricketing based.
The PCB has expressed disappointment that attempts have been made to damage the reputation of the young cricketer, whose future is bright.
It must be noted that that the news was circulating where the name of the young pace bowler was withdrawn from the U19 team due to over-aging.
