Pakistan’s former cricketers Ramiz Raja and Bazid Khan, Roshan Abeysinghe and Russel Arnold from Sri Lanka and New Zealand’s Danny Morrison will commentate the upcoming two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Roshan and Russel will be returning to Pakistan within two months time while for Dany it will be his second visit of 2019 to the country.
For cricketer-turned commentator Ramiz, it feels like ‘Padding up again’. “I am super excited and mighty proud to have the best form of cricket, Test cricket, return to Pakistan. It almost feels like I am padding up again!” he said.
Ramiz congratulated the cricket fans and national cricketers for finally getting a chance to witness the red-ball cricket.
“I am especially pleased for the players along with the fans who had to endure a drought of Test cricket at home for a decade or so. To be able to play on home soil in front of home crowds should have been a given, but sadly an entire generation of Pakistan cricketers missed out on that!” he maintained.
Meanwhile, Bazid Khan was equally excited, when he said: “Feels unreal that a test match is going to happen at a 20-minute drive. The real deal, that is Test cricket, returns. Fittingly, its Sri Lanka who return.”
Sri Lanka’s former Test batsman and now a commentator Russel Arnold called Pakistan his favourite place to tour. “Pakistan has been one of my favourite places to tour the sights, experiences you would not get anywhere else.,” he highlighted.
It must be noted here that the first historic Test between the hosts and Sri Lanka is scheduled in Rawalpindi from 11-15 December while Karachi will host the second Test from 19-23 December.
