PCB reveals road map for next generation cricketers


The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced more opportunities for the young cricketers according to the newly passed domestic structure.

All 90 cricket associations have been asked to introduce cricket activities at school and college level to extract more talented players. Ample opportunities will be created for emerging cricketers to polish their skills to push them forward. Talented cricketers will get a chance to represent Pakistan in the future.

The new domestic structure will make sure that all six cricket associations will conduct inter-city tournaments every year. All six winning teams will compete in the National City Championship under the banner of PCB.

These cricket association will also conduct trials to select their U19 teams which will participate in National three-day and one-day tournaments.

Trials for U13 and U16 teams will also be organized by cricket association in collaboration with city cricket associations in over 82 cities from Septemeber 12 to 20.

The PCB chairman Ehsan Mani aims to take cricket at everyone’s doorstep. “Since I have taken the charge, it was my aim to encourage more cricketers to come forward and showcase their talent. Our priority will remain to rope in as many players as we can and we will try to inherit a positive approach in them to take cricket as a serious career option,” Mani said.
