LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to shift Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7 to the January-February window next year as Australia is likely to tour Pakistan in late February.
According to the reports, PSL 7 will start in early January and will continue till the third week of February in Karachi and Lahore. PCB and all franchises are agreed with this window despite its clash with Big Bash League (BBL). However, the other available window was in March-April which would have clashed with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and overlapped with the Ramadan schedule.
PCB is yet to make an official announcement in this regard but reports claim that the working on this window has been started. The board is also planning for the new broadcast deal and sponsorships for the upcoming season as previous contracts expired this year.
Remember, COVID-19 hit the last two seasons of the PSL which were held in two phases. Multan Sultans is the current PSL champion after they beat Peshawar Zalmi in the final of the second PSL 6 leg in Abu Dhabi.
