PCB’s Board of Governors approve new domestic structure


The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Board of Governors (BoG) has approved the newly enforced domestic structure consisting of just regions.

The chairman of PCB Ehsan Mani and Chief Executive of the PCB Wasim Khan led the 55th meeting of the BoG. The meeting discussed several matters including the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka to Pakistan.

Khan briefed the BoG members about the preparations for upcoming series which is going to be a historic moment in the history of Pakistan’s cricket. Sri Lanka team is to visit Pakistan from September 25 to October 10 to play three ODIs and as many T20Is.

The members were also briefed about PCB’s efforts for the complete revival of international cricket in the country. According to the PCB, the chairman of Cricket Australia (CA), Earl Edings, and Chief Executive, Kevin Roberts, will visit Pakistan from 16-18 September while England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)’s Chief Executive and a director will visit Pakistan in October.

Moreover, Khan also explained the process for appointing the coaching staff for the national team.

It is pertinent to mention here that a five-member coach finding panel has taken the interviews of Misbah-ul-Haq, Dean Jones and Mohsin Khan for the post of team’s head coach. Pakistan’s former speedster Waqar Younis also gave the interview to the panel for bowling coach’s job.

The board has finalized the names for head coach and bowling coach while the official announcement will be made soon.
