PCB’s cricket committee to hold meeting on August 2

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s cricket committee to hold its meeting on August 2 at the National Cricket Academy, the board announced on Wednesday.

The meeting will be headed by the MD PCB Wasim Khan and its member former cricketers Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq and women cricketer Urooj Mumtaz will be present on the occasion.

PCB’s director for international cricket, Zakir Khan, Mudassar Nazar (Director-Academies) and Haroon Rashid (Director-Domestic Cricket) will also attend an all-important meeting.

The board has also invited chief selector and captain Sarfraz Ahmed who will present their report on the team’s performance in recent times.

The committee will overview the performance of men’s cricket team in recently concluded World Cup 2019 and overall performance in the last three years. Moreover, women’s team performance and the progress of U16 and U19 team will be under consideration.

It is pertinent to mention here that the cricket committee’s meeting will be important as it will recommend the PCB’s chairman Ehsan Mani for the future of cricket in Pakistan. Mani will overview the report of cricket committee to make the decision about the captain, coaching staff and selection committee.

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has already announced to step down from his post on July 30. Pakistan’s exit from World Cup has forced the PCB to make revolutionary changes to plan things with a broader vision.

The board will publish an advertisement for the posts of head coach, batting, bowling, batting and fielding coaches and chief selector. Pakistan’s next series is against Sri Lanka in October this year.
