Manchester United’s new manager Jose Mourinho has brushed aside the news of getting distracted by his former rival Pep Guardiola who will be managing club rivals Manchester City this season. The duo had a spiky relationship while in charge of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona but Jose is confident that things will progress smoothly here and he has promised not to let down his employers on this issue.
Speaking at Lisbon University, Mourinho said: “My experience does not allow me to be innocent.”
“I was with Guardiola for two years in a league where either he or I would be the champion. Here, if I focus on him or he on me, the champion will be another (manager).”
Despite their history in La Liga Jose insisted that he won;t instigate more rivalry while managing Manchester United.
