Peshawar Region were on song beating Karachi Blues by 7 wickets in the final to lift the trophy of the PCB Inter-region U-19 one day tournament.
Peshawar firstly dominated the play with bowling out Karachi on just 127 runs in 50 overs to make their position strong in the match.
It were Mohammad Mohsin’s 70 runs laced with 10 boundaries and a six that made it an easy task for Peshawar to get past the victory line.
Karachi blues were invited to bat first after their counterpart won the toss at Mirpur cricket stadium.
The batsmen of Karachi failed to contribute much to their team’s total as both the openers Mohammad Taha (15) and Mohammad Nafay (13) scored just 27 runs on first wicket.
Only Anus Ilyas fought hard with the bat for Karachi making 46 runs to take his team to some valuable score.
Niaz Khan, Awais Ali, Amir Azmat and Mohammad Amir took two wickets each for Peshawar.
In reply, Peshawar with decent opening partnership of 45 runs between Aamer Azmat and Mohammad Mohsin gave perfect start to their innings while chasing.
Aamer lost his wicket scoring 24 runs but Mohsin single-handedly won it for Peshawar.
Ali Naseem took two scalps.
Peshawar was given winning prize purse of Rs 0.2 million while Karachi Blues received price money of Rs 0.1 million.
In individual performances, Saad Khan from Hyderabad received best batsman award, Mohammad Jahangir best bowler award and Mukhtar Ahmed best wicket-keeper award.
