SHARJAH: The second edition of Pakistan Super League was kicked off with an action packed contest between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United, they will face each other again tonight at the venue of Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
In their first meeting of PSL 2017, Islamabad United chased down a revised total of 173 runs in 18 overs at a cost of just three wickets. Zalmi scored 190/9 in their quote of 20 overs.
Dawid Malan and Kamran Akmal shined for Zalmis, but brutal counter attack from Brad Haddin, Dwayne Smith and Shane Watson handed Islamabad United a much needed win to start the tournament on a positive note.
Afterwards, Peshawar Zalmi have defeated Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. Whereas, Islamabad lost to Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.
Islamabad United’s pack of foreign players are performing quite well that have been their strength in the tournament, whereas, Peshawar Zalmi have not been as consistent as they were in the inaugural edition of the league.
It will be an interesting contest between the two sides, Peshawar Zalmi will look to keep their dominance in the points table, while Islamabad United must be hoping to keep up the momentum going.
