The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is all set to start the National women football championship from October 16 to 25 at Lahore.
As many as 14 teams will take part in a nine-day tournament which will pave the way for women footballers to showcase their talent.
The teams are divided into four groups.
The secretary PFF, Colonel (r) Ahmed Yar Lodhi while briefing to the media in Lahore said that the federation has started working in a proper way to bring football back on the track.
“We have planned some more tournaments in future to revive football in the country,” he said.
Lodhi said that staging these sort of tournaments would help players gain momentum and to improve their standards.
“We will try to develop the players through organising different tournaments,” said Lodhi who believes that soon Pakistan will be back on World’s football map.
He further praised the women footballers of the country who are passionate to represent Pakistan at International level.
“I am glad to see the interest of our girls towards this sport,” he said.
