The president of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar on Friday appointed former Olympian Saeed Khan as the new manager and head coach of Pakistan hockey team for FIH Pro Hockey League.

Khan, who had coached Pakistan winning squad in World Cup 1994, will join the team soon to prepare them in Pro Hockey League. Khan had also coached Pakistan’s women team in Asian Games Qualifier in Thailand last year.

Khan was the member of Pakistan’s world cup winning side in 1978 and 1982.

It merits mentioning here that Pakistan will play their first match against Argentina on February 2 in FIH Pro League. The PHF has already announced 26-member pool for the upcoming event.
