The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed former Olympian Ahmed Alam as the national team’s goalkeeping coach.
Alam overthrew Shahid Ali Khan with an aim to train and enhance the skills of national team goalkeepers.
“My aim is to polish the skills of goalkeepers. I have some strong plans and I am confident to implement those plans to lift the status of our goalies,” Alam said after joining the training camp of the national team in Lahore.
The former captain said that it is need of the hour to increase the pool of goalkeepers. “I have requested the secretary of PHF to focus on increasing the pool of goalkeepers,” he said.
“Pakistan has talented goalkeepers in the country but there is a need to provide a proper platform where they can showcase their skills,” he added.
