Lahore: Experimenting with senior players turned out to be a failure which is why PHF has decided to depend more on new players in future.
According to details, PHF is quite disturbed after watching Pakistan hockey team’s poor performance in the Azlan Shah hockey tournament played at Ipoh, Malaysia. The officials have been forced to think whether or not to give further chance to the already tested players or to depend more on new players in the future international events.
It may be noted that during the Azlan Shah cup two players Rashid Mahmood and Rizwan senior were included in the national team without trials on recommendation of team management by the selection committee but their performance along with other seasoned players remained normal. The team after losing four consecutive matches was pushed out of the finals. Arsalan Qadir won the title of highest goal scorer by netting the ball six times.
