PHF gets green signal to hold Junior training camp in Karachi: Sources


LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been given permission to hold a training camp for junior players at Karachi’s Abdul Sattar Hockey Stadium. 

According to the sources, PHF has been directed to establish bio-secure bubbles for players and officials during the camp. All people involved in the camp will undergo COVID-19 testing before starting training.

As many as 35 players have been called up for the camp. Players include Rana Waheed, Moin Shakeel, Gazanfar Ali, Waqar Ali, Mohsin Khan, Umar Sattar, Aqeel Ahmed, Abdullah, Roman Khan, Mohibullah, Murtaza Yaqoob, Hamad Anjum, Hanan Shahid, Ali Raza, Shahzaib Khan, Asif Hanif, Mohsin Hasan, Anis, Hamad Ali, Usama Bashir, Waqar Ali, Samiullah, Arbaz, Rizwan Ali, Qaiser Khan, Zain Ajaz, Ali Uzair, Adeel Latif, Abdul Manan, Arshad Liquat, Mohammad Bilal, Abdul Rehman, Abuzar, Danishwar Taimoor Sheikh.

Olympian Danish Kaleem will serve as Camp Commandant while players will train under the coaching of Zaheer Ahmed Babar and Mudassar Ali Khan.

Players and officials have been asked to join the camp this week. They will be tested for COVID-19 and also receive the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine after which the camp will commence.

It must be noted here that the training camp will serve as preparations for Junior Asia Cup.
