PHF’s president invites international hockey federations to Pakistan


Lahore: The president of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Brig (Retd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar invited the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) and Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to look at security arrangement and facilities for international hockey in the country. 

In a video message, Khokhar said Pakistan is a safe country to play international hockey and invited FIH and AHF to come here and look at the security and facilities for international events.

“We invite security delegations from the AHF and the IHF to visit Pakistan and review our security arrangements and facilities to conduct international tournaments,” he said.

“We have also requested the international bodies to give us a chance to host upcoming hockey events. Like any other country, Pakistan also has the potential to host events,” he added.

Meanwhile, he also assured that they will race the efforts to restore hockey activities in the country in COVID-19 times. “COVID-19 effected the entire world and all sporting events came at a standstill. But, as the things are settling down now and several sports have been resumed, we have also restored hockey activities in the country,” he highlighted.

“We hosted National Tray Championship successfully and now we are up to host 66th National Senior Hockey Championship. I hope things go well for us,” he concluded.
